Active Spool / Active Colour Indicator for Multi-Material Printers#876

3

Problem / Use Case:
When queueing or monitoring prints on Bambu Lab machines running an AMS, it’s easy to accidentally assign the wrong slot or filament color for single-color jobs. Currently, verifying which spool is actively feeding into the toolhead requires checking camera feeds, opening sub-menus, or inspecting the print in person.

Proposed Solution:
Add a dedicated, always-visible badge to the printer’s live status card showing both the active filament color and slot number directly on the UI (no hover required):

Color & Slot Badge: A high-contrast pill, swatch, or circular spool badge displaying the live spool color with the slot number clearly visible inside or next to it (e.g., a colored circle with “1”, “2”, “3”, or “4”).

Live Dynamic Tracking: The badge updates dynamically during prints:

For single-color prints, it immediately confirms the assigned slot from layer 1.

For multi-color prints, it switches in real time to show which AMS slot is actively feeding during each swap.

Value:
Instant Mistake Catching: Allows farm operators and single-printer users to confirm at a glance that a job isn’t printing in the wrong color before the first layer even finishes.

Zero Clicks Needed: Displays the essential info (color + slot) passively alongside existing metrics like nozzle temp, bed temp, and progress percentage.
